I believe that doing marijuana is a sin because it is illegal, and breaking the law is a sin. But if it weren't illegal do you think it would still be a sin? Why, or why not?

God gave cannabis to man as a gift..it would be a sin if we did not enjoy it as He intended.

No. Does it really need an explanation? Our government shouldn't get to tell us what we can and cannot do with our own bodies as long as it doesn't infringe on anyone else's right. So no, I think it's no more of a sin than drinking alcohol, which Jesus and his disciples did regularly.

Did God not provide every seed-bearing herb for us to use? I don't think sins can be judged by human beings, being that they are the laws of God and not the laws of man. That is my opinion.
I don't think it would be a sin. God gave us plants for food, medicinal purposes, and for shelter. I have known people who would prefer to smoke becuase of a headache than to take asprin or some types of pills. Its just one of those things you can't abuse. Eating large quanities could be considered a sin. Its all about moderation.
I dont know if this is a discussion about drugs or religion, but I disagree with the idea that something is a sin because it is illegal. Websters definition of sin is "an act, a thought, or behavior that goes against the law or teachings of a particular religion, especially when the person who commits it is aware of this" it does not mention anything about going against the state. I think that the bible is full of people going with their conscience and against the state. Moses was a criminal in the eyes of the Egyptians and Jesus a criminal in the eyes of the Romans, but neither were seen as sinners. Some see marijuana as a sacrament that will bring them closer to God, so my advice is, if it feels like the right thing to do - do it, if it feels like the wrong thing - dont. That feeling however, is up to you.
If you are high then it would be like you are intoxicated.There are lots of things that are not against the law but is a sin.I've never tried it and would not recommend it.
i dont think its a sin. breaking a law like that isnt a sin. isnt marijuana in the bible? i think it is. when u get high, you feel relaxed. god created marijuana, man created alchohal, which one do you prefer?
